Bio 

Caitlin MacIntyre is a dedicated researcher with expertise in virology, One Health, and arboviruses. Caitlin is currently the laboratory manager of the Emerging Viral Threats, One Health surveillance and vaccines (EViTOH) division, within the Infectious disease and oncology research institute (IDORI) research institute at the University of Witwatersrand. Her research focuses on One Health investigations of zoonotic arbo- and respiratory viruses in animals and humans, with an emphasis on full genome sequencing and virus discovery. Caitlin has authored and co-authored several publications in high impact peer-reviewed journals, with a focus on the detection and characterization of zoonotic pathogens. She holds a BSc in Microbiology, BSc Honours, and MSc in Medical Virology with distinction from the University of Pretoria.
