Veterinarian, MSc Public Health (Colombian National University), PhD Veterinary Sciences (Università degli Studi di Torino, Italy), with seventeen years of experience working in multi-disciplinary health teams and intercultural workplaces.
Currently, she is associate professor and researcher at Universidad de La Salle, Colombia. She works as public health consultant regarding the integrated approach to zoonoses with the Colombian Ministry of Health (2016), mapping the One Health initiatives in Latin America (2022), mapping the legislative frameworks and governance structures to implement One Health approach in Colombia (2023) together with CIRAD and The Pan American Center for Foot-and-Mouth Disease and Veterinary Public Health Unit at PAHO.
She serves as member of international panels and networks:
- the One Health High Level Expert Panel (OHHLEP) for the Quadripartite WHO/WOAH/FAO/UNEP (first term 2021-2023)
- One Sustainable Health Forum (2022-up to date)
- NEOH gender working group since 2020, iv. South American Network of One Health SANO (USAID-USDA).
Currently, she is advisor and mentor for the Colombian National Health Institute for the Frontline course of the field epidemiology training program (FETP) on One health, co-editor of the CABI One Health journal on the special topic on One Health, Gender and Feminism, founder of the Biodiversity and One Health community of practice, a multidisciplinary group created to advocate for the inclusion of One health approach in the National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) for Latin American countries. Finally she co-creator of the LinkedIn page called Comunidad de Aprendizaje y práctica de Una Salud together with the Latin American OHHLEP members
