Omer Njajou is an experienced Epidemiologist and Public Health expert with extensive experience in global health, epidemiology, and strengthening public health systems. He has held academic positions at Erasmus University Rotterdam, the University of California, the University of Minnesota, and Université des Montagnes in Cameroon, where he led the Public Health & Epidemiology Unit.
Omer has led various initiatives in community health, One Health, and pandemic prevention, detection, and response. In his recent roles, he served as the Senior Technical Advisor and Africa Coordinator for the USAID-One Health Workforce Project and with DAI as a Senior Technical Lead for International Health Regulations and One Health on the FCDO Tackling Deadly Diseases in Africa (TDDAP) project. Since 2022, he has worked on integrating climate and health data for early warning systems and programmatic decision-making through the USAID Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) activity.
